interventional radiologists

Interventional radiology is a subspecialty of radiology in which minimally invasive procedures are performed using imaging guidance. Some procedures are diagnostic (e.g., angiogram) while others are for treatment purposes (e.g., angioplasty). CT, ultrasound or fluoroscopy may be used to provide a road map that allows the radiologists to guide needles or other devices, such as catheters through the body to areas of concern.
